Overview

Runway is seeking a talented and collaborative Controller to join our team. As a crucial member of our organization, the Controller will contribute to both the strategic and day-to-day financial operations of the company. The Controller will own the accounting function and oversee all accounting operations to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive leader who enjoys building organizational capabilities and developing solutions in an entrepreneurial environment. This position will report to the CFO.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
 
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations and the full-cycle accounting process including AP/AR, general ledger, payroll, taxes, and banking & cash management
- Own the month-end close process and all associated activity for multiple entities including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and reviewing financial statements
- Prepare monthly financials and reporting package for management and ownership including analysis of financial results and key performance measures
- Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team and ensure all work is completed accurately, on time, and consistent with company policies
- Collaborate with senior management and business unit leaders to develop and manage budgets
- Manage cash flow forecasting and implement effective cash management and treasury strategies
- Coordinate with tax advisors for the preparation of year-end tax returns
- Manage regulatory reporting to ensure compliance with tax and other regulations
- Ensure proper accounting treatment and reporting for investments and transactions
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures; proactively identify and drive accounting process and workflow improvements
- Provide leadership and vision for scaling the accounting team and financial systems infrastructure to accommodate business growth
- Provide financial and accounting support for the organization and manage special projects as directed by the CFO
 
 
What We’re Looking For
 
Experience and Qualifications:
 
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA designation is preferred
- Previous experience as a Controller
- Multi-entity accounting experience is required
- ERP systems experience, preferably NetSuite
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing, growing, and mentoring a team of accounting professionals
